Over Sam Bass’ thirty-three years of commitment to his artwork, an incredible collection of artwork, design and originals have grown into an impressive Gallery to showcase the many talents of the artist himself. With show-stopping creations displayed edge-to-edge from wall-to-wall you’ve never seen anything like it. Stepping into the gallery, is like stepping into Sam’s life, reliving memories of drivers, races and concerts.
By the late 1990s, Sam began to outgrow his first gallery, which was house in a unique nostalgic building on the Charlotte Motor Speedway grounds. He then took another major step in his career and decided it was time to showcase his artwork and race collectibles in a public place. The current Sam Bass Gallery opened its doors on October 4, 2000. It is conveniently located right across the street from the Speedway for corporate clients within the racing community, race fans visiting the region and is in close proximity to the team with whom Sam works so closely.
Sam’s countless original paintings and limited edition prints on display in the gallery document key moments and memories in our sport, as seen through the artist’s eyes. Also on display is his impressive collection of sheet metal, driver uniforms and helmets that Sam has designed. Cases are overflowing with examples of Sam’s work – whether it be his paint schemes on die-cast replicas, sports collectibles, track mascots, souvenir programs or unique trophies.
One section of the Sam Bass Gallery is dedicated to Sam’s second passion: music and guitars. Sam himself plays the electric guitar and has been designing custom guitars since 1999. Visitors can view custom designed guitars Sam has created featuring NASCAR legends Dale Earnhardt and Richard Petty, as well as a selection of Nashville Superspeedway trophy guitars, which he has been designing since 2002. Photos of Sam and famous musicians adorn this section and give visitors a glimpse into Sam’s love for music.
Another portion of the gallery presents Sam’s third passion: Christmas. Sam has been creating Santa and Snowmen original pieces for years that are displayed for visitors to enjoy alongside a life-size jolly Santa Clause. Sam’s Santas and Snowmen have been developed into a number of charming Christmas products including Christmas cards, and die-cast cars to celebrate the most wonderful time of the year.
The Sam Bass Gallery offers as a unique venue opportunity for events, as well!
